Packaging ?
How do package a pen after it's finished?
Like all of us, I have been commissioned to make pens. But when I give the finished pen to the person, I wrap either wrap it in a paper towel or just pull it out of my pocket. I would like to present it to them in a more professional fashion.
Any ideas? BTW...I am not looking for wooden boxes, etc. Too expensive.
Thanks!!

I use the velvet pouches when I need cheap pen protection, 99cents from Craft Supplies USA!

I also managed to score some second-hand plastic pen boxes, which I use for posting... but I'm already running out of them.

I make a wooden box out of the same timber the pen is made from
You may be able to fold a container from special card and finish by tying with
raffer a cane tye of string.
I had some students making and marketing pens once and they had this packaging worked out well

Thanks to all for the ideas! For special orders, I do supply a wooden box, but that can get costly after a while. I had even thought of going with the plastic boxes like Skew. However, what I am really looking for are the velvet pouches Ligget mentioned. Perfect!
Again, thanks to all!

I was at the market the other day and they were selling pens in the same plastic boxes that we normally purchase to display our pens in going out for 5 for $2.00.
Get rid of the their pen and replace with your own and it is cheape than the pouches. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.
