    Default I-Pad Stylus

    Hey there,

I had a request from a Client to make a Stylus for his I-Pad, It needed to be conductive, as in that you need to touch the Screen with your Finger, not a hard ended stylus like a touch screen, we had a look on the World Wide Web and there are a few diferent ideas, I needed to find some conductive foam (done) and then think of a way get the static from my finger to the foam, Mark 1 had a piece of copper wire cut into the timber and contacting the foam, version #2,3,4 are timber laminated with Aluminium strips in between and drilled to touch the Ally, then just polished with EEE and Shellawax, work like a charm on the LOML's I-Phone, big test tomorrow with my mates I-Pad.

I know that you can buy them on the Net for $14.00, but they aren't Harry Butler Originals
I have niece who works at a Shop that sells all that type of thing so I will give her one as a sample, and see where that goes.

    Default Conductive Foam

    Hi HazzaB,
Would I be able to get C/ F from Clark Rubber.
I was thinking of the fine Alum. from that stuff you can put on top of your house stumps, or do you need it finer than that.
I would just make them for our Grandsons.

Interesting idea. Could you use a strip of aluminium from a soft drink can? Or is that coated with something that would stop it working?

    Cheers,

    Hey Guys,

The Foam isn't something that Clarke Rubber would have in stock, you need to get it from an Electronics Supply Shop, it is used for storing and transporting IC's

I have just used the ally from a drink can, just rough it up with 120gr sand paper and glue it between bits of wood.

    Hey Issatree,

I have found that Jack Daniels, uses the best alluminium in their cans ( That's my Story and there will be NO correspondence entered into)
