Hi JT. YES ! your spot on with you observations. On one of the wedding pens I did last week, if you look 'into' the pen, whilst holding it under a light, you can see what I just thought was a slight marble pattern in the blank, could be in fact glue lines. Anyway, we'll just call it 'Marbling', looks nice anyway
I never forget anything I remember !!

Hello, I've been using Jo Sonja's Artists' Colours. Acrylic Decorative Paint to paint tubes for those transparent Acrylics. Never had a problem with tubes coming loose. Works well for me.
Jo Sonja's Paints available from Spotlight and Craft Shops. Happy turning everyone.

I am sure I read somewhere on the site that Marla spray paints her tubes with silver.I tried this and it works.
