    Default Les

First look says the usual wow with both pens.

Feel the choice of round top with the black swirl most appropriate giving it needed length and class.

The green one looks very business like ready to write checks (cheques) more of a traditional looking pen colour so to me thats appropriate.Shorter top appearance.

You kept them both simple lines, fat as possible while turning from top to tip, think with such a neat beaded fat centre that is just right.I care for the beaded shape and it does extend the pen to balance the size to create length, more majestic shape.

Can not fault nor would your display of pens to me it is all about the pen not the surrounding world in general. Thanks for your take on pic taking.

    Regards Peter

Thumbs up We all know how

To make pens. Why are you compelled to make some of us feel a little inadequate?

    Beautiful elegant pieces.

Nice pens as always Les. I sure like the green crush, but KMS were out last week when I got there. Got a buch of Red though. Over $100. now for the ferry, so can't afford to leave the Island very often. I was going to Red Deer next weekend, but decided to cancel with the increase costs and Gas.

Beautiful pens again Les. Do you paint the tubes when working with acrylics? And is there a rough guide as to what colour to paint them in relation to what blanks you are using.

I have done two and both I can see the gold through. One is blue (as seen in my album)
and the other green and black. I thought they would be dark enough to hide the tube, but when you get down so fine with the Sierras, they show through.

    Thanks for any assistance

    Jenny

Great looking pens, beautifully crafted and finished. Photography as always is first class.

Jenny, I doubt there are any acrylics that don't need to have the tubes painted. I use either black or white spray acrylic paint, depending on the effect I want. There are no hard and fast rules, use whatever colours you think will work and learn from experience.

One of my early acrylics was a jet black Sedona that I cast myself. I though I would have no problem with the tubes showing through, but I was wrong. At the thinnest part near the cap finial, there was a definite loss of depth in the black due to the brass beneath.

Thanks Buzz. Will be sure to paint the tubes in future.

    Jen,
I too paint black or white. I find spray lacquer works great. About the time I don't think I need spray, I regret it. I did one last night in black and white and forgot to spray them. Hopefully I don't regret it. Rule of thumb, Spray them all.
