Making a pen ?
Making a pen was it true ? I was lucky enough to be at a demmo today put on by the woodturners of the Hunter at there workshop. It was a great day where passed on plenty on his knowledge and years of wisdom and i was told in no uncertain terms that he doesn't do pens. Well after plenty of ribbing by me and NCArcher and also Ross with giving as much if not more than he got i managed to take this photo.
Is this making a pen or am I seeing things ?

No he wasn't but just turning this piece of timber while showing us some of the Ubeaut finishes was as close as he was going to get to a pen so thanks for a great day and i am sorry I will miss the gtg tomorrow at woodnuts place as i will be on my way to Bali
Cheers Ian

Must have been a long pen tube or a stack of tubes all on the one mandrel.
I guess all the fellows in Newcastle must be tall that lathe is way to high to be comfortable at.
What couldn't you guys find a smaller lathe for him to turn at??
You see you had it all wrong lathe should have been set up with a pen blank already on there with a NO CHOICE MUST DO IT
