    Well, at least it doesn't appear as though I am using the wrong chisel anyway. I should practice a little more with my gouges I guess, & I really need more shed time but then who doesn't.

    Thanks for letting me know though.

    I would also like to thank another person on this thread, who I will leave nameless.

    This person saw I was new to turning on here & offered to send me some blanks to get me started. I thought this was a wonderful gesture & we arranged to do a bit of a swap.

    As much as I would truly like to name this person, as I feel they should be recognized for their generosity, I am reluctant to dob them is as they may be hit for requests that they don't want or need. The blanks arrived today & they are fantastic, timbers I have never even heard of. I feel my end of the swap was pretty poor by comparison.

    Anyway, you know who you are, and I sincerely thank you for your generosity & your wonderful timber. Please contact me again if you want more of what I have & i will happily send you more.

    Glad to hear the blanks arrived Steve, I hope they give you some inspiration to turn out some great pens.

    No need for any more thanks than to post the photos of the pens you turn out of them .

    Don't worry about your blanks, most of those timbers you mentioned, I don't have any of them in my collection, so I will be very happy to receive them.
