Default Pen Box to hold 2 pens

Hi all, I only started making these pens so I could then make a box to hold just 2 pens in. After looking at a lot of ideas, wasnt really happy with any of them. So I went back to the type of box I would normally make. The timber I used is Coachwood and ARC, both timbers would be well in excess of 50 years old. The ARC insert is very snug but will just fall out if you hold the box upside down. So it could be used as a trinket box and just keep the pens elsewhere.

Pens are looking great Paul and another top job on the box. I might have to have a go at a finger jointed pen box for something a bit different. Are the pens sitting in a couple of coves there in the bottom?

Hi Dallas, how's it going mate. This is a pic of what sits in the bottom of my box. It's a very snug fit but will fall out if you lift the box upside down.

Made from ARC. I used a 19mm cove bit. I did the slots all the way through, way to much mucking about to lower timber onto a cutter this size using stop blocks and try to get it all perfect. This way you can do a few at a time with a long strip of timber.
