Not quite a pen but close...maybe...oh alright..nothing like a pen
I use a pen mandrel is that close enough?
Oh well...
Here are my first set of darts in custom cast purple for My brothers GF.
Stand is an offcut of a burl (maybe should have used it for a WW cast) with a couple of coats of super glue up top and Gilly Stephensons Cabanara Wax.
These have been weighted to 20g (no idea if she will use them).

You got me interested at the heading, does not count as a pen unless they are going to be dipped in ink to write.
But that is only my opinion.
