Default The next "See if I like it" pen kit

More Coolibah, this time trying the "see if I like it" using Sierra kits. And, YES, I do - so family and friends will be getting Sierra's for when their Streamlines wear out (or to add to their collection). Again, finished in spray can lacquer.

Looking good Gary. The Sierra is a classy design, and has always been my most popular pen.
Match it with a spectacular piece of timber, and you can’t go wrong with it, as you have proven.
Well done Gary, keep them coming mate.

Thanks, Peter and pkroeze, for the kind comments. Yes, I was happy with the final product and am now very much a Sierra fan (but there are just so many kits out there - the list is endless) . My next challenge, and I really mean challenge, is a bunch of Baseball Bat kits for my son and grandson's team. The instructions are a bit vague (like me) and my first panic attack was when the tubes wouldn't fit on my home made 5mm mandrel! Our Chinese friends didn't tell me that the cap retaining clip had been packed inside the lower tube (for shipping). And dummy here didn't look. Well, I was warned it was all a learning process; just didn't think I was such a slow learner. But as long as it's fun, who cares?

    Cheers, Gary

As Brad says, the Sierra is a popular kit with maker and recipient. They are an attractive pen, quite reasonably priced and easy to make due to only having to turn one blank and therefore no grain alignment needed.
That's a nice looking burl you have there.
