Default Pen Kit suitable for Lamy rollerball refills?

This is for my wife - I'm not really a turner, so I apoligise if I use terms incorrectly. Her favourite pen to actually write with is a Lamy Tipo rollerball, which uses M66 refills, but she'd much rather a pen that didn't look so... fluro. (I think she is eyeing off cocobolo)

Does anybody know of a pen kit suitable for using M66 ("suitable without a cap") or M63 ("suitable with a cap")? From what I can tell, the refills are a little longer and possibly a bit thicker, buy it seems impossible to find any sorts of dimensions for refills/kits from turning supply places (I can easily measure the M66 here, though).

Alternatively, for the pen connoisseurs, is there an alternative rollerball refill/kit that writes as well as that Lamy?

The Baron/Sedona and the Pristina seem to have rollerball inserts which look similar to the Lamy

To be 100% sure would have to try a the Lamy refill in one.

I thnk youwill find that the rollerball pen kits (Baron, Sedona etc.) use the standard european rollerball refill i.e. the Schmidt 888 which is 115.5 mm long. This fits 98% of rollerball pens. Unfortunately, the Lamy is not one of them. The Lamy refill is 107.7 mm long.

It might be quite easy to modify either the Lamy refill or the kit to match the two together.

Cheers Avery. The wifes response was "well I just had to be difficult, didn't I?" Looks like she might just have to skip Lamy (if she's giving them as gifts, she may not want to modify refills so that they can be replaced without her). That guide does show a bunch of alternatives I know she'd be fairly happy with, so thats a big help - thank you

Others have already replied re rollerballs, but the closest pen to that Lamy I guess would be the Longwood pen kit (Longwood 24kt Gold Twist Pen Kit - Woodturning Tools and Timber, Woodturner Accessories, Woodcarver Supplies, Woodturning Equipment). Not sure of refills though.

where abouts in Melbourne are you???

it could be as simple as trimming the body tube slightly to accommodate the shorter refill, thats if the body of the refill will fit in the pen

i think it should work without much trouble

if you let us know the dimensions of the refill we should be able to work it out

    all the best

Lilydale, so not too far from Pops Shed to checkout their kits

Oh! Of course, I had it in my mind we'd have to add something on to the refill

The refill glossary Avery posted shows it as as 10.77cm, but measuring its actually much closer to 11.05cm.
Widest point of the barrel is 7mm, which is 21mm from the tip. It has a very slight taper from the tip to that wide point, it doesn't have the same 'step' that the Schmidt 888 has. (I'm not sure how important that is)

The longwood kit suggested by dai sensei would be out, I guess, since the barrel/tubing is 7mm (comparing it to uhh.. a slimline kit we have, it doesn't fit in the brass tube)
