Default What pen mill for Gentleman barrels?

I've made some of the slimline pens in the past but now I want to progress to something more classy so bought a couple of gentleman kits.
The question I have is what barrel trimmer is available for the larger tubes of the gentleman pen kits?
I bought one of the combination sets with the four different sized barrel cleaners but none are large enough for the gentleman tubes.
So how do you square up the ends of the larger tubes?

    Thanks
    Ross

The diameter of your cutter should be fine ,most likely you will need to make yourself a bush to suit the diameter of the tubes .wood is ok or acrylic ,drill a 1/4 inch hole through an offcut so its long enough to go through the tube, then put it on your pen mandrel and turn till the tube just fits through the tube you want to trim .It is only a guide to stop the cutter moving off square ,if you have a sanding disk you can take most of the excess material off after glueup ,leaving a small amount to take down to the brass with the cutter , Hope that makes sense and helps a bit cheers ~ John

    Thanks John,
I thought that was likely what I needed to do, thanks for your speedy reply.

I use slime line pens that have gone wrong (I have a few) for example I may have had a tear out but the other end is still OK. Just saves using good timber when you have some already waiting for a new lease on life
