Not a Pen but a use for the offcuts
I have turned a number of pens recently and was left with a pile of offcuts from the blanks, usually around an inch long. Was trying to think of something to do with them, then it came to me.
If a drill a 7mm hole in them, make them round and curve the ends, you have a bead. About them young Mrs 10 Year old wandered into the shed asking can I help.
so taking the following ingreedients
1 !0 year old Girl
1 container of off cuts
1 skew chisel
1 afternoon
1 pile of safety gear
The result was
1 happy girl
1 proud daddy
and this

Gra, that is insanely brilliant, I love it. I have two little girls who would love to do that. Thanks for the idea

Great idea. Did you turn them on a pen mandrel after drilling the hole, or is the hole too small for that?

And y'know the silly thing? I could probably earn more by selling those bracelets at a Market Stall than I could selling pens?
(Probably 'cos I get on better with 10yo kids than I do with their parents. )
