Default Pen pocket clip secured into pen tube

Hi I have no idea what to call this thread but the title gives some idea I guess. I’ve made a number of pens now but I’ve noticed the sometimes the pocket clip can work loose and this is not a good outcome when someone comes back and complains that their lovely free turned pen has its pocket clip come all loose. I’ve tried reclamping the pen to push it in tight but sometimes it comes loose again after a few weeks. Any long term solutions you guys use apart from not giving away free pens to my friends

I just use a tiny drop of superglue applied with toothpick,to hold the clip in place.
But you sure have a tuff audience if the pens are free an there complaining.

    Cheers Matt

Thanks Matt, I had thought that might be a solution but thought it might dry too fast or glue up the pen refill, anyhow I’ll give it a go, thanks again. I don’t think they are really complaining so much but mention it in passing and I feel a little embarrassed that I’ve given them a pen they cherish and it’s not fully functioning as It should is more the case. Anyhow I’m new to pen making and I do a good job but there’s some tricks still to learn I see

The mechanical world use products to keep bolts and bushings in place, the most well known brand is Loctite, Permatex is another. If you get the one for bushings and bearings, a tiny amount will hold the parts together and need high heat (heat gun or torch) to take it apart. They don't grab instantly like CA can so you have time to put the parts together. It will even hold when parts are loose enough to drop out when turned over. Go to an auto parts store or similar and they will have it. Note it has a colour to it so don't get it where you don't want it.

Hehe, Loctite 263. Nothing short of magic will ever get that apart

Being sensible, I'd put a nano-splort of Thin CA on the assembly and let it dry. It will wick in and hold like buggery.

I found with some pens, people use them like fidget spinners..... they wrench, stretch, wind-in... wind-out a billion times. They like to fiddle with them
