Pen sales and display
I am building up a reserve of pens to sell at a particular market which won't compete with any other member on this site. The market only runs twice a year. I will have to build some small cabinets in which to display the pens. I would appreciate any advice you might be able to provide on the best type of cabinet to build, including any photos you might be able to post. Also any tips on establishing the actual display in a tent type of situation would be appreciated.
Thanks

This is my setup at Broadbeach ,the table folds and the backing board is held on with three "G" clamps , does 2 things raises the display so it attracts attention from a distance ,and when you are on your feet for long periods gives you a place to hide hehe , I always mix with customers at the front of the stand and encourage them to try the pens they are interested in ,in sales it gives them a sense of ownership and is a very powerful tool for sales, I also give a free refill with every pen sold to allow that a pen may have been tried a few times before ,this is a 3 X3 market marquee ,and I can set up the whole shebang in around 20 mins ,as you can see the bulk of the pens are in boxes or vynal cases ,so as soon as the tent is up and the table in place I can have stock on display in minutes, then its just arranging the specials and other things for an attractive display I usually have around 150 pens available in a wide range of styles and materials, wish I could say what sells best but its always pot luck on the day so I try and cover as big a range of tastes as possible ,I don't do trash and treasure markets as it seems they only bring out the bargain hunters good luck with your endeavours cheers ~ John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Check used retail display sellers, look for the jewlery/ring cases...most of the shows I do, small items are usualy displayed better in them, opened with a prop rod or just opened and displayed like the ones show in the above post, at an angle...also allows you to close and transport them easy.
Stack them up, in the trunk(boot) of the car and home, saves time at the shows, you can show up with the cases already loaded."That's why I love my computer,,,,,,,, my friends live in it."

Thanks Phil
I like those glass or perspex display cases you are using. Did you buy them or make them?
