Default Pen set and desk stand

    Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen
Although an avid wood turner and pen maker, I don't think I have contributed in the Pen making forum before. That is until now, as this is a little different to the usual offering. I normally get the plaque made up through a mate who owns a laser engraving business, the customer supplied this one himself.

Both Pens are York Gum Burl, the stand is Jarrah

    Thanks
    Willy

    Hey Willy,

How do you find the trumpets..? They don't fit the pens that I make
Do they only come in one size?? Where do you get yours??

    Default Pen Trumpets

    Hello Harry
Yes, it is true that the profile I choose to turn my pens does not exactly fit the trumpet receptacle. However, if I chose a different shape, I am sure they would fit better. I get mine from Rod Cocks, at either P Square or Craft Imports. He lives near Wandi (Perth)
    Cheers
    Willy

    Hey Willy,

I am doing a demo at the local Woodturners Group, and my mission is a 'Desk Set' I am looking for ideas, it's hard to show something turned, ( besides a Pen ) I pretty much have them down pat, I am thinking of a Calculator insert, and also a 40 Year calendar insert, but i need to fill in an hour or so, any ideas ????I have done a demo on Pen Turning at club level, and am booked to do a Pen Turning Demo at the Mandurah Group Weekend Workshop, in May.
I'll give Rod a call and get some trumpets, thanks for that.
