    Default Pen site launch

Well folks, it won't properly be ready till after Christmas, but I'm busting to tell some people about it. So without further ado, I'd like to announce the opening of my pen shop, and it's related pen blog.

    Russell,

Very stylish. Good navigation and layout.

    I like it.

    Mike.

Had hoped to have a site of my own, but I doubt time will allow at the moment.

Good start Russell looking forward to see what you come up with. I don't know if you have checked this site out for pen kits (http://www.penkits.com.cn/) I would buy from them but to make it worth it I think you need to be a reseller. Good luck hope to do business with you in the new year.

As you say early days yet,all looks good to me , Just a thought ,may be you could have a section where you could showcase other peoples work for sale that don't have a web site or any way to get that wider audience, a small commission for your efforts and running costs of course, just might help while you build up your own stock to sell online. cheers .

    Thanks all for the comments.

I had considered selling on commission for people, especially those that had asked about setting up a web site but it turned out to be too much work for them. I will still entertain the idea, but the technicalities can sometimes be difficult. It would be my reputation on the line, so would have to make sure sellers can provide a level of service I am willing to accept.

I am actually planning to do maker profiles on the Blog, where I interview different penmakers from around the world and showcase some of their pens at the same time. That's a bit biased to the more experienced makers though. If there's any volunteers for being interviewed, feel free to speak up.

David, I haven't checked out that pen site. Having trouble loading it. The bit I saw, the english doesn't look the best either, so not sure how easy it'd be to communicate with them. Have you got in and got any sense out of it all?

I'd like to break out into a few other kit types, but it seems pen kits prices are all on the rise now due to the aussie $$, so I may just have to stock up on the standard ones I have currently. I really want to get into fountain pens, but they tend to be the more expensive kits. Time & money - if only they grew on trees :P

Russell I have had a look what I dint like is that they only show the kit in parts not made up. I would prefer to see the pen made, but that is up to them. I know of 2 sellers who use them. If you what to know who they are you can PM me. As I am not into reselling I will leave it up to you. Good luck with them.

Good site and easy to navigate as mentioned above. More products needed but of course that will come with time. Good luck for the future.
