Pen virgin
First attempt at some pens & bottle stoppers.
After some advice & hints from (HazzaB), many thanks Harry
Also thanks to (Sundowner) Graham for getting me interested in pens.
Very pleased with the outcome.

Col
Long time ago I was a Virgin now I am still a Virgo speaking of Pen Making of course.
My addictions were African Violets following Sth American Discus following Orchidacae all very costly and difficult especially in this cold climate. I am also retired now 14 yrs had to learn to run again to keep up with everyones expectations to fulfill their needs after all you now have the time and you dont need money do you cause you enjoy it after all. We have our Eldest daughter living in Golden Bay in WA.
You have a good tutor in Harry he should be proud of you and you him. There is no way I can comment on your group display except to say you have a good eye for detail and variety. Try the Slims with a Streamilne centre band Timberbits, com Davd sells them in various colours, easy to make another style of pen as well. I make mostly all Slims this way and after 15 to much more years have not exhausted my imagination with them.
You live close enough to a huge variety of timber as well. I wish you every success in the Fish Keeping and Pen Making. Say g day to Harry for me his work is go really well.
Regards Peter.

All very well done for your first crack at turning pens and stoppers.
It's great to have mentors like Harry and Graham.

Another few
People don't realise what they have in their own gardens. Just look at the grain & colours on the Grevillea & Callistemon (Bottle Brush)
