New Pens
Here are a few pens I have made lately. Took a while but got there. I have been asked for some comments. Forgot all about that. Thanks for the remminder.
1. Lotus fountain pen kit from Gary Paye with man made ivory. First blank exploded but I changed to a small gouge and went well.
2. Statesman pen kit from GPW with a light dead finish I found lying in my shed.
3. Statesman roller ball from GPW with olive. I love olive and is a dream to turn.
4. Sedona roller ball from Timberbits with another part of the dead finish trunk
5. Cigar Americana from Timberbits with acrylic coral. The coral is a bit pitted due to bubles in the blank. I filled them with ca and followed with my normal finish.
6. Sierra from Timberbits with acrylic blue swirl.
All pens turned with a mini lathe which I bought from S E Qld Woodworking Supplies. I use a mini gouge and scraper to finish. Then sand to 12000 using micromesh.Last edited by Islander; 8th May 2011 at 06:43 PM. Reason: My mates wanted discriptions.
With kind regards and may the wood chips fly
