First pens for a while
These are some pens and letter openers I did for a friend for Xmas pressies for his sister and BIL.
Sierras and dagger style letter openers from Timberbits.
These are NG Rosewood
These are Honduras Rosewood
My photography skills suck, the NG Rosewood especially, looks much better in real life.
All finished with EEE and Shellawax. I stopped using CA a while ago. My father commented on something I made, that it looked like plastic. That was enough for me, it's wood and should look like wood, and feel like it to.If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

Those ones in NG Rosewood look great, thats some nice timber.
I know what you mean about the CA and the more natural type finish.
Seems that most people expect a flawless high gloss finish, but as you say, it turns it into a piece of plastic.
I occasionally get a request for a timber pen that they can feel the timber. It is a refreshing change.

Thanks for the comments folks.
I made the Honduras Rosewood ones first, and thought, wow that's nice. But the NGR burl is much nicer (the HR is nice to, just not as showy as the NGR.)If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

Best part of no CA on Rosewood is you don't have to worry about under gassing, and ending up with a cloudy finish The timber is great and that set will be a perfect gift!!!!
I wish I could sell nothing but 'no CA' as a finish, but seems the two pens I have that are finished with EEE and some paste wax are the last ones to ever get picked up. Everyone just goes straight for the CA shine? I don't get it.....

Nice blanks and great work. I started with the EEE and wax finish and went to CA mainly because of sweat stains from the hands marking the timber without a CA finish.
