Default Pens from the heart, a gift for my Doctors

    G'day Addicts
This is a Black Titanium Baron Rollerball and Fountain pen set that comes from the heart. I am giving a set to both the plastic surgeons who have been looking after me over the past 19 mths in appreciation for what they have done to ensure I keep kicking. This is only one of the sets it is made from Rose Myrtle Burl and believe it or not they are both from the same Burl despite the difference in colour. I was a little disappointed that the colours are a little different but I suppose that is the nature of the Burl. The second set is made from Yellow Box Burl I haven't assembled that set yet so I will post some pics of them when I do but for now here are the Rose Myrtle Burl ones.

They look brilliant Froggie, what finish may I ask? They look very "deep"

    And what a wonderful gesture!

    Thanks Tank
The finish is 3 coats Rustins plastic coating and then buffed and polished using Acrylic Finishing Pads and Meguires Plastx plastic polish.

Forgive me for asking this as I do not know the background of the medical need - but -
Are the Plastic Surgoens changing you from a frog into a handsome prince or a prince into a frog?
Whatever it is - good luck and best wishes for a good outcome.

I take it that the doctors left you with enough money to still play with the addiction

Good thoughts hope you are well on the way to a full recovery

The pens do look nice BTW

I have been locked into several full on projects but I love your pen finish and design.

Previous remarks about frogs reminds me my SWMBO made a quilt for daughter number three that featured a large number of frogs and a handsome Prince with lettering saying you have to kiss a hundred frogs before you find the handsome Prince. That daughter is now a grandmother many times over, it was before she left home.

Our regards for your recovery time following surgery to you and yours.

It has been a long time since I've seen anyone mention using Rustin's PC as a finish. A bit surprising, really, as it's just as durable as CA, easier to apply and gives a lovely finish without those bloody fumes...

I reckon your doctor will love 'em.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Very nice work indeed Froggie!

I am sure your plastic surgeon will appreciate
them and compliment you on your fine work.

Footnote: My plastic surgeon did his first two
years of training repairing cracked Tupperware
    plates.

Hope your recovery is quick and successful.

    Allan

Thank you everyone for your kind words for those who don't know why I have plastic surgeons watching over me and I don't think I have mentioned the reason why before but I had a Melanoma removed about 19 mths ago it's been a pretty anxious 19 mths but these 2 doctors have been watching me like a hawk to make sure it hadn't progressed to other parts of my body and so far nothing I am so glad they got it early it made all the difference they tell me and because it has been 19 mths with nothing showing up they tell me the risk has greatly reduced and seeing how they put me in a trial so none of the surgery, treatments or testing costs me anything I thought it was the least I could do to show my appreciation for their work.
