Took the plunge
Well after listening to much advice on this forum about what to buy and what not to buy I got a lathe. Thanks to a member (Paulphot) who pointed this one out to me when I asked him what he thought of another. Thanks to everyone for their advice, only issue now is that it is in Penrith but my wife is in holsworthy during the week on course so she is going to do a special run for me. Jet Mini Lathe - eBay, Equipment, Machinery, Woodworking, Industrial. (end time 28-Aug-10 19:56:40 AEST)

Looks like a pretty good buy with pretty much everything to get started with pen turning
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

I have a strange feeling I know this lathe and person selling it a former forumite.
They are a good lathe I also have one
If you have problems picking it up I go to Penrith Wednesdays and live at Hinchinbook near Liverpool and could deliver it to LOYL or she could pick it up at our place if thats any help.

Thank you for your very generous offer however my wife has the cash so it would probably be just as easy for her to go rather than putting money in an account (which probably won't clear in time anyway) and then having someone else pick it up. Thanks again for your offer though I am starting to like this forum more and more.

Great little lathe. You won't regret buying it. I've had one now for the best part of ten years, and it has never missed a beat and has made thousands of pens.
