Polishing bushings.
After discovering that both Brasso and EEE get black stuff off the metal bushings, I decided to try making some wooden bushings just for the polishing step.
I think this should help. If anyone is interested in seeing them, currently first project on my web site.
I think that for polishing they should be OK. I didn't put a brass tube in them since PSI seems to have forgotten my extra 7mm brass tubes .
If not, they were easy enough to make .

Way to go! For polishing and touch-ups, I think they're perfect.
For some kits, (older, discontinued models for which they just don't sell suitable bushes anymore ) my wooden ones are the only bushes I've got! I've also made 'em from corian and suitable ID copper tubing, but wood's my personal preference for some strange reason. As you said, they're easily made.
