Polymer Clay Sierra
This is the latest polymer clay creation my wife has made, there are a couple of mistakes, I sanded through the rose on one side and you can see the background colour through the petal, its slightly out of round also.
Seems to take a bit of practice to get this stuff right.

Edit; just had another look at the pen, the sand through is much more noticeable in the photo than looking at the pen for some reason.
This one is a gift for one of our employees.Last edited by Ironwood; 24th March 2012 at 07:26 PM. Reason: added info

There doesnt seem to be too much in the way of tutorials for pens, but there is info out there if you look around, my wife bought a tutorial off a woman in the US for making floral sheets, the info can be adapted for making pens.
Toni ( member here ) has some good info on her website, if you find one of her posts, there is a link to her website on the bottom.

Ok,
I will take your word there is a mistake somewhere on that, if you say so.
You got me a smack upside the head, my wife was looking over my shoulder at this, and wacked me one, wanted to know why I don't make her one of those...
Of course, that also sounds like a good excuse to buy some more stuff, so..."That's why I love my computer,,,,,,,, my friends live in it."

Thanks John, my Wife should get all the credit for these clay pens, as she does the hard bit, I just sand them smooth and put some CA on them.
Hi David, thanks for the kind words, from the responces from the people that see it, the fairer sex definetely like it more than the menfolk.
Hi Ed, it can be a dangerous occupation this penturning business.
An excuse to buy more stuff is always good. Especially if it is encouraged by SWMBO.

Ironwood, beautiful pen
, With polymer clay, if the cast is not deep enough or if you find that you are going right through into the clay, it is good to give 4 or 5 coats of thick CA, then turn that down to where you want it and finish it off as you would with CA, it will look ok. Amos
