Posting bullet pens ?
I have been asked if I can supply some 50 cal pens to someone in the UK. I told him if I could guarantee them getting through to him, I would do it.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing ?
The cartridges still have the primer installed ( has been fired, so the primer is dead )

Might have to check with someone in the UK , but if you have them disassembled in a plastic bag .like a "Kit" should go through ok I would imagine , especially as in an X'ray it would not look like a bullet as such. Mark on the customs label you fill out that they are specialty brass pens . Cheers ~ John

Thanks John. Yes I had been thinking that sending them disassembled would be the best chance to get them through.
If they were assembled they would probably look a bit sinister on the X-ray.
The guy that wants to buy them suggested wrapping them in alfoil, not sure if that would help or not.Brad.

Forget the Alfoil as concealment in itself is an offence ,and most likely lead to immediate impoundment and seizure . Not sure how the laws stand in the UK ,but in Australia here it relates to all armament components spare parts etc. UK may be different in that regard ,just another factor in what we have to deal with Cheers ~ John

I would definately not wrap them in foil because that is making it look like you have something to hide and yes I would send then unassembled and do as john said and mark them Brass pens and I think you will have no trouble getting them through.

Thanks John and Ian. I am not sure if I will go ahead with this, due to the high risk of losing the pens.
I would expect payment in full before I sent them, but still not sure if its worth the trouble.
I know the lady that owns the local post office, might have a talk to her next week and see what she thinks.Brad.

Brad , I have a good friend in the UK who is a retired ex british policeman and also a retired senior customs officer from Australia, I spoke to him briefly about this problem and he said he would see what he can find out ,so don't give up just hang on till more facts are available , Just might be a simple permit or something Cheers ~ John
