olivewood root emperor rb
From the olivewood root from Wasson, this blank is from the burnt piece that was rather dry and quite hard to turn, I like the variation of grain in the wood, it almost looks like Osage Orange in colour!. Amos

That is very nice looking Olive, Amos. In fact if you hadn't said that it was Olive there is no way I would have picked it.
Greet job on the Emperor, that Gold really brings out the colours in that blank.
Very well done

Certainly a challenge with that timber on that kit,the bigger pens seem to have even thinner walls ,I guess to try and cut down the weight factor, although that kit has some heavy duty metal work hehe. Well done as per usual Amos cheers ~ John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Beautifully done as always Amos.
I'm not sure about using the Emperor on such complex grain. The kit and the blank competet for attention and the overall look suffers. Well, that's just a personal thought.

my preference is the Blk Ti, the gold looks gawdy to me, everyone has different ideas though
great job regardless

Amos
I had a brief vision an Emporer without any clothes, your Emporer deserves all the rest that goes with real special pens guts and show and dazzle. Also I know that cross cut timber jumps out and says here I am.You are right for me with your comparisons in the appearance of Olive it rates right up there for me as well.
Take care mate regards Peter.

Thanks for those comments to all, and yes I can see how just a plainer type of pen may allow the Olive to stand out alittle more, so I wil keep that in mind and try the Statesman that has less bling. I tend to like the bling thing, and it is good you remind me about the tingalingaling Amos
