Thread: Question about pricing

what I got told as a guide is add up all your material used and then 3x or some I have heard double it.

Roll Tide, this question came up in the Forum recently, basically around $25 for a Slimline, $35 for a Seirra gives a ball park figure, but if you spend big for the parts e.g. Titanium Sierra, or it is a costly blank, or it is a difficult wood and takes you twice as long, then you adjust accordingly, do not sell yourself cheap, if it is quality then the price should reflect that, the labourer is worthy of his hire. Of course there are quite a few variables involved, a little commonsense will soon tell you what is right. Amos

Thanks for the info y'all! (I had to put my accent in there ) When I was building rods the norm was to figure up the components at retail and add a minimum $100 labor. Not a lot of folks are willing to pay that much for a custom rod. Thanks for pulling up that thread and I will give it a look.

Don't forget that threads talking about $Aussie... but most of it's still perfectly relevant to over t'other side of the big pond.

I followed the hint (advice) from Skew ,and jacked my prices up a little.Still selling a few.
