re sending wood to germany
just like to know if anyone has sent or knows of the german customs regs re sending wood from australia into germany.
i cant read german but from what i can tell from the web site wood is ok but other plant parts of some certain plants is not ok .

If you look at our custom regulations I'm sure they will be tougher so pass our custom regs and you should be alright. I think the general rule is no bark and no holes.
Another thought would be to ring our customs and ask them what the regulation are for sending timber into Germany.

thanks for the offer ,but i have just had an email from the guy and he assures me there will be no problem at all . and from what i can work out from the german customs site i think it will be ok

Was just looking up the exact same thing and came across this thread.. Going to Germany in a couple of weeks.You guys reckon I'd be right bringing a wooden box I made over?

I have a German acquaintance that comes to Australia for six months every year. He is a retired biologist. He has taken many pieces of timber, seeds and cuttings to propagate in Germany, legally. In fact he went back only last week. Taking stuff out of Australia is not a problem, provided it is legal. Custom regulations are designed to protect Australia from bugs we don't have here.
JimSometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important...
