Default Some recent Sedona work in Gidgee and Tiger Myrtle

Well, I think I'm finally getting the hang of the two-pack poly finish, though my photography skills don't quite show that just yet.

I really like the Gidgee fountain pen - the two tone with knots. Lovely. And it's a delight to use.

I'm undecided about the tiger myrtle though...

Both have their place and will suit individual people. I love the Gidgee. Amos

This wood Gidgee is new to me. What kind of tree is this from? I like the rollerball a lot due to the character of the wood.

Gidgee is an Australian desert timber - from memory the tree looks unremarkable but the tree is very slow growing because of the arid conditions. Trees can hundreds perhaps even thousand(s) of years old... someone else will know for sure...

I think it's hard to get large pieces of it but I noticed the latest copy of Australian Wood Review has a beautiful guitar whose top is made in Gidgee...
