That looks fantastic Amos, great figure in the blank and the finish (as per usual) is superb.

A very nice Red Mallee pen, Amos. While I am not familiar with the Cambridge kit, the fittings remind me very much of an El Grande with different trim rings. How does the weight of the finished pen compare to that of an Emperor? The finish is top notch as usual and the fit between the timber and the kit is superb. I love red mallee as a timber. You Aussies are very lucky to have so many nice timbers to choose from.

Beautiful pen .. the figuring in the wood is beautiful. Must have been fun watching the color pop when you got the CA onto that wood!

Some of the kits are a little too busy for my taste, but then I iron my cornflakes in the morning before I put milk over them ..

Cisco, about half the weight of an Emperor, , NewLondon, sometimes too much of a good thing can get tiring, so will have to look out for something "plainer" next time, Amos

    Another great looking pen Amos.

You have the CA finish down pat really nice and classy. As you red malee is one of my favorites.

Oh, different people have different tastes, that's all. As I was looking at it I realized that
the reason I haven't done this kit is that the center band is a bit much for my eye. Usually I don't care for large center bands or very busy ones. They tend to take my eye away from the wood.

I might just pick up a kit and see if I can make the center band smaller and a little less busy. Maybe not, I don't think they're meant to come apart..

Hmm.. all those little pieces that get cut off the end of the pen blanks with the tube hole already in them .. gotta be useful for something..

It looks nice, I wasn't putting it down at all. Just stating my own taste, which tends to run towards the subtle/plain. I like my scotch neat, my ice cream vanilla, my ink black and my women without the voice option

Quite true, my wife thinks the Emperor and Majestic kits are too busy. Then I made a couple of Statesman kits and she really liked those. Much less bling with a much smaller center band. That's why it is good to make a little of everything. Someone is sure to see something they like.
