    Default Red Mallee Dayacom Pen

    Red Mallee Dayacom Pen.

I had an offcut too small for a standard size pen but big enough to make a Dayacom. Was going to make it a Sierra but had just enough length for the Dayacom.

Sanded to 1200 grit, 20 thin coats of CA, wet sanded with micro mesh to 12,000 grit, Brasso then a final coat of automotive wax.

Again very happy with the results. The Red Mallee is easy to turn, nice and dense timber which holds a good shine. The red is a very rich burgundy red, which I love.

More excellent work David. There is nothing like a Dayacom kit to bring out the qualities in the blank.
