Refreshing CA finish
With my CA finish I apply Brasso and then the Swirl Remover treatment and I get a brilliant shine on the pen. As soon as I take it inside the house and after touching it, it looks like it loses some of its sheen. I know that some American pen turners will use Renaissance wax to help restore the shine and provide some protection from fingerprints, what do turners here use, if anything? I have used the Ubeaut traditional wax, it seems ok. Has anyone used the Renaissance wax and what is your experience?

Hmm, I use Plastic Polish and it retains its shine, apart from the odd dirty handprint that is easily removed with a polishing cloth (or rubbing with your tee-shirt )

Thanks guys for the replies. I would have thought that Swirl Remover and Plastic Polish are pretty much the same thing and the t-shirt does help with my pens, just looking for something a little more permanent I guess so that once off the lathe, fingerprints do not mar the finish. I'll look at the Plastic Polish option and check the ingredients to see how different they are to Swirl Remover.

With my CA finish, I just use use car polish as the last step after Brasso. I let it haze dry on the pen, then polish with a soft cloth on the lathe. It seems to resist finger prints pretty well.
