Rhodium & Black Titainium Rollerball & Fountain Pen Set
Hi All,
Rhodium & Black Titanium Roman Harvest Rollerball and Fountain pen set (Timberbits) ;-) Here are the first of two sets, not sure about the timber but I think it could be Macadamia which is finished in our glass like finish.
Thanks
Tony.

Noice!!
Grain certainly looks like macadamia but I have never seen it that colour.

It did start out a sort of grey Silver, but once oiled and Ca Coated ended up like this. The grain and finished colour is very similar to beef wood but like I said not how it started out. Anybody else like to have a crack at it ?
Cheers
Tony.

Nice Pens Mate,
that's not one of the blanks I gave you is it? I have more and it has Macadamia Nut written on it?
looks good anyway!

Hi Ben,
It most certainly is although the colour of it now looks nothing like the colour in its un-worked state, but very nice none the less. One of the Sn Gents I done was also one of the blanks you gave me which had already had some turning done to it, not sure what the timber is though ? any ideas ?
Cheers
Tony.

Hey Tony,
The first 3 pics are of more of the same material that you made this pen out of, Which i believed to be macadamia nut,

these next 3 pics are of the same type of timber that you made the Sr gent out of(the bank that was already round), I thought it to be Red Ash?

Not sure if that helps or not,
Cheers Ben

Yep looks like R Ash, still not sure about the mac, looks too "brown to me" but could be old tree.

I'll take a stab and say Beefwood. Beefwood being a grevillea does have the same "grain" as Silky Oak. Colour to me looks about right.

Great looking pen Tony. When you say you 'oiled it up' was the oil Boiled Linseed Oil ?. I've been using BLO for a while now to enhance 'some' of the more plain timbers. Cheers mate.
I never forget anything I remember !!
