Rhodium Jnr Victor in Mystical Mica
Hi all,
Some time in the workshop last night and came up with this one. It is a Rhodium Jnr Victor threaded and is dressed in Mystical Mica. The blank is made using real Mica and cast in resin. The effect given when the light hits the pen is truly amazing. I do not think I have been able to capture the true look of this pen in the photographs I did try !! I hope you like.
Thanks
Tony

Great looking pen
Casting mica is a cool idea, surprised it doesn't dissappear in the resin, is it one of your casts Tony?Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Neil,
These are blanks we are bringing in from the USA we have partnered with Michael who makes a great range of what he calls Mystical Pen Blanks. We have the Mystical Stone (Marble) in various colours, Mystical Mica, and Mystical Glow. Check them out here

Tony, those blanks have a special wow factor about them, as you said, very difficult to capture without exceptional photography. Amos

Tony, do these blanks require a finish to be applied ?
I ask because I assume the edges of the mica is exposed when the blank is turned down to size.Brad.

Yes, The Mica do require a little more work and effort in both turning and in the finishing than your normal acrylic. They are very easy to turn but gently gently on the mica bits once turned finishing is how you would normaly finish, so MM etc. CA is then the finish to seal everything up. But all very worth it when you see the end result on a pen, Im very impressed with the look, very specy
Thanks
Tony.
