    hi guys
    i know a heap of you have seen "IRONWOODS " red beech , well im lucky to have been given a couples of pieces and decided to attack it today ,
    i decided that i should give the pen wizard a go and thought what the hell i got a X cut piece lets try turning that and putting it on the wizard
    we all know how fun it can be turning X cut blanks at the best of times
    finished to about 1200 then 2 coats DO
    doesnt show as much grain as in the hand

    Thanks for putting the pic up Troy. Looks good.
    I thought it would have been a bitter flashier in the grain department though, but as you say, pics cant show it as good as in the hand.
    I'll have to pull my finger out and turn some of it myself.

    I like the shape, maybe a little more narrow to match up with the hardware...but then again, you'd loose more grain pattern.

    i had started with a 3/16" router bit and it wasnt leaving much wood above the bushes and had a read up and it said to use a 1/8" bit
    still playing with it anyway
