    Default Rollerballs in Parker kits?

    Hey All,

The girls at work are all wanting rollerball refills in parker style kits. I think this is partly because the parker refills we're getting with the kits all seem to be pretty crappy - feels like you're writing with sand.

I've suggested we could get gel refills in the Parker style, but they are expensive at $8 each I saw in Officeworks.

I said not really to their original question, but was wondering, has anyone found a way to put rollerballs in parker kits?

    Thanks. Russell.

    $8 ??!!??

I get them for around $4 for two.

Don't know if I'd go with rollerball, I think they'll tend to dry out quickly. The gels work
great. I'm sure there's better deals out there than $8 .. might be worth checking a few of
the member suppliers to see who carries them. I know there's several in the other site,
not sure about here, since I don't buy much from Aus...

I think the gel inks are fine and a direct swap for parker style pens , I think you need a converter or something for the roller balls to parker. I recently got gel inks at 5 for $6 us, got red blue green and black, try and keep it simple and avoid complications

You mean the Schmidt ballpoints? Are they better than standard parker refills?

I have found the Swiss made refills with the Dayacom EBs & Americanas from Jim write really well. Wasn't impressed with the Sierra refills.

The Schmidt style refills are good quality. I'm using them myself in a Sierra click that is my current pen.

I've tried the gel refills too, got them from the US some time ago. I have to say I did not like them, can still be a little messy, and not really one or the other.

If you really want a good refill for the Parker style pens an original Mont Blanc refill will fit and they are beautiful to write with,

The cartridges that come with the Sierra kits do not write well at all. I buy two-packs of the Gel refills for around $4 at Staples (an office supply store). I get them in blue and black and put them in when I assemble the kit. The stock refills go in the dumpster.

A girl I work with told me that she did not like gel pens because they were messy. I wrote a line and immediately rubbed my hand on it. Nothing. I made a sale that day. The gel refills put down a lot of ink for a nice bold line and they do it smoothly, in my opinion.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Urgh, for $10.75 one would hope so. Problem is with selling these, adding $10 to the cost of the pen just to cover the refill, I'm not sure would work out.

The Sierra I sold to the person who wanted a rollerball, I can't remember if it was berea or dayacom. It was rather embrarrassing though when she replaced my refill with one out of the cheap plastic pen she'd gotten free at a training course, and then says "ahh this one writes much better"....
