Rosewood Burl
Havent had a chance to get into the shed for a few weeks, but with the Christmas holidays, I've finally managed to get the time and inspiration to do something.
This is a piece of rosewood burl from one of the guys at the IAP forum. No idea what species it is, but it turned out rather stunning. Rustins plastic for the finish, photography took a new twist with natural lighting - seems to be an improvement over using the fluoros and fiddling with the gamma correction.
enjoy the pics and merry christmas!

Dave
There are many Rosewoods, in burl they are all beautiful, this one no exception even the sapwood has a pleasing colour. Ever since I picked up a digital camera I am not happy with focus but you nailed it and the article is good reading as well. The reds are reminiscent of red Mallee, in fact it has deep colour with neat fixing and finish, what more can you want from a pen.
Merry everything. Peter

That one's a beauty Dave!
I really like Rosewood burls, can't seem to find any around here.
Excellent fit and finish with good choice of plating for the timber.
