    Default Second runner up

This relates to my thread of my gloat. This is a Sterling Silver Sedonda from Addictive Pen Kits and the timber is cross cut Bocote that I got from Ciscokid. This pen is the second runner up to my grand champion piece. So thank you Brett and thank you Ciscokid, this is it, see what you think.

It is hard to go wrong with the Bocote. I am surprised out how good the silver kit looks with it. If that is runner up, I can't wait to see what won.

Thanks little fella, see a photo lol others will come at the weekend.

Rick I am a bit bias on Silver, Platinum and Chrome they look good against most timbers not all but a big majority. I was pleased how that one turned out. I have some Kingwood but not in the cross cut.

It is a rich color so will look good against the Silver as well I feel, but for a kit like that with the Silver fitting only the high end timbers will go with them. I feel it is a waste to use an ordinary timber when the kit commands good price then a better than average timber should be used.

Sorry if this puts people offside, but I am big on respect, in all aspects of life and what we do. In meaning, if you put a cheap kit with a high grade timber, or a ordinary timber on a high end kit to me and this is my view i would not be respecting the kit or the timber if i did either.

Stunning! Did you have any trouble with the cross cutting? Blowouts?

    Beautiful finish work, as usual.

    Default Gday Al

    G'day Al

I never had any problem with blow outs, i used a razor sharp 1/2" skew from square to round, taking light cuts and re-honing the edge every couple of passes. Started my sanding at 400 through to 12000. It cut so sweetly, even though it was cross cut, it does cut better one way than the other so i cut with the smoothest direction and finished with CA.

    Howdy Darren
and congratulations, never thought of entering the show, I might
have to send in a macadamia next year just to give you a bit of
competition, So there are youve got nearly twelve months to create
    a winner.
Will catch you in town one day if I can afford enough juice to get there.
    cheers Mick
