Default My First Sedona Fountain Pen

    Hey Everyone

I had a crack at a Sedona Fountain pen today, I had a little trouble picking the blank so I got my kiddies involed and they narrowed it down for. I finally pick out the blank Qld Red Bean sanded to 1200g then MM and 10 coats of BLO/CA. The Red Bean was easy to turn I am not 100% happy with the finish but it still turned out ok what do yous think

    Ian

PS how do I put the ink in and is it best to leave the ink in or out

Ian, great looking pen. I am a big fan of the Sedona kits.
What did you do after applying the BLO/CA?
After applying the finish I buff out with either Meguiars PlastX or Autosol and end up with a great gloss finish.

Have never made a Sedona but my guess is that you unscrew the nib assembly and then insert the cartridge/ refill into that
hope thats some sort of help

Fantastic bit of timber on a great pen. Haven't branched out to these yet but I do love the look of a fountain pen. Great job

    Hey Ian,

Very Nice job, You unscrew the Nib end and all the insides come out, Don't put any ink in it till you give it to the client (or use it yorself, Should keep the first one I reckon) Use the cartridge supplied unless you get some quality ink from a stationary supplier.

Quality work there Ian !. I've yet to do a Sedona, I'm trying to find some shed time this month. I've got a heap of pen kits & timber, just lacking free time (
    I never forget anything I remember !!

    G'day Ian,

Take it from me , the ink stays out until it arrives at the customers. Had a fountain pen leak before it got to the customer, had to redo the whole pen.
