Segmenting Ligero RB
The segments are: Purple Heart, Curly Maple, Padauk and Pau Amerillo.
The pen kit is Ligero 22K RB.
The strips were ripped by using this jig - shameless self promotion (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f207/j...strips-168519/)
CA finished and polished with Novus 3, 2, and 1.
Thank you for looking.
Comments are welcome.

Brilliant work with the jig and nice pens. Thanks for sharing. Can you use a thinner cutting blade?

Good Morning Plantagenon,
You mean a thinner than 1/16" (~ 1.5875 mm) saw blade. I don't know of any thinner table saw blade than 1/16".
I guess one could use a scrollsaw which will definitely cut thinner kerf.
When you asked "Can you use a thinner cutting blade?", what were you wondering?
Less astage (from the blank) with a thinner blade? With this segmented Panache, I made sure I made a pair of "long" blank so I would not run of blanks.
In fact each layer/tile/segmentation of this pen is 5.85 mm.
1.5875 /(5.85+1.5875) * 100 = ~21% wastage.
Yes, make a long enough blank!!!

Thanks Pen
I was just thinking about wasting a lot of timber in the cuts. I might use a band saw. Brilliant work though

Wow, thats a great looking pen.
Looks like a lot of thought, and quite a bit of labor has gone into it.Brad.
