Default Selling Fountain Pens - Loaded or Unloaded

Do you sell your fountain pens "loaded" with ink ready to go or do you leave it for the person buying it to "load"?

I have a couple of fountain pens to do but am wondering about possible issues of ink drying out etc if I have them ready to go.

    Cheers

Typically I load them in front of the customer(most of my sales are face-to-face), this allows 'new users' to see how it's done.
If the sale is 'lobg distance', I send the components seperated in the package and give them my phone number if they need a 'walk through' on loading them up. Wouldn't want the fountain to show up with an empty ink cartridge all over the pen

I am still shipping Internationally for now.

Typically I sell face to face and give the option where possible of cartridge or pump for ink, Most folk buying fountain pens are usually experienced and don.t need too much instruction ,new users I take through the process and if they want it filled or activated I oblige . If I was sending them off to somebody I would never have ink in them in transit ,chances are a messy package on arrival. cheers ~ John

Let them load their own ink as I would never buy a 'new' fountain pen with ink on the nib. It shows it has been used. Also it tends to dry out if it takes you a long while to sell the pen. Another important point is the quality of the ink you use in the pen. I only use Waterman ink because of the quality of the product.
