    Default Work Shop Pencil Kit

    Help

NZ Carver picked up this kit at Sydney show asked me if either I or LOML could turn it for him ( he got a nice purple acrylic).

There seems to be a part of the pencil kit missing there is nothing for the push button top to attach to or the nut shaped ring (unless it attaches to the brass sleeve.

    Can anyone enlighten me/us

yep.if its the 2 part kind you have to turn down to the brass on the nut end to take the chrome nut, usually a press on fit, also have to glue the pencil sharpener section on to the end of the pencil tube after assembly, be careful here as any glue runs down you can glue the lead to the tube, or the other way glue the pencil sharpener end together .Also watch the tubes as one is threaded and that is your nib end (don't ask) hehe. done all of the above at one time or another cheers ~ John.

I was speaking to the young fella doing the carving who bought the kit, we have the bushes and instructions for the the kit, (if you still need them)

One tip that is not in the instructions, is stab the threaded end of the brass tube into a potato, and snap the plug out. wipe any potato juice from the outside of the brass, as the starch stops the glue from sticking - which is the whole reason for doing this step as we want no glue fouling up the treads.

Hi Mark thanks guess you haven't checked your e-mail as yet. Yes your who NZ Carver purchased it from

Found missing part the screw in bit for the sharpener and when I got instructions off net found that the Nut shaped ring is just push fit onto brass sleeve trouble is sleeve is under sized so won't be a push fit will have to leave a smidge of blanks and glue it on.

I may have to get the bushes off you though unless my Seira's will do the job which I think not

Yep, I have done dozens of these,a bit fiddly for what they are, I much prefer the same thing in the single tube with a clip on the top, come in gold or chrome ,easy- peasy hehe!
