Group Shot!
I'm working on a business card design, so I had a little photo shoot yesterday with some pens and wood I had laying about.
Wood. Such a wonderful substance.

I can't take my eyes off that crosscut one third from the left. Amazing!
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

I just took a second look. Are you, also, using your billiard table as a backdrop???

Beautiful pens... the finish is immaculate
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

So what you're all saying is I only made one good pen?
So, for the encore, here are some "hand" pictures of your favorite. Incidentally this pen is my first commission. It has some outstanding flame and depth to it's dramatic color changes, reminds me of catseye stone. If you haven't already guessed it's cross cut Cocobolo on a Jr Statesman, the customer wanted a nicer upper end pen but required it be postable, which led us to this.
Although a Billiard table would probably make a good background, I was just using green felt, it's adhesive backed, and I was going fit it to a pen holder base I am working on.
Alas I don't really have the technical capabilities for video right at the moment. But I'm honored that you would ask. I actually haven't even watched the one posted on here, maybe we are doing the same thing.
Cheers!

Hi Matt
Was going to say wheres the fingers but you did not let me down lo and behold you did it. I have been intrigued by the timber used indeed on one site I saw hundreds of colour , shades and grain only for Cocobolo. You chose one of the flame ones that took my eye immediately and proceeded to make this pen, all of the comments stated confirm and I support the pen is superb, still envy the pic quality (one day) Ill get it right every time with my pics.
Regards Peter

Matt,
Outstanding job on the lot! I too prefer the cocobolo, but the two mallees look pretty awesome as well. The finish is crazy!

The two Mallees are actually Oak burles.
Peter, have you tried using Photobucket? It allows you to post much larger higher quality images.
I edit them in paint.net first, then upload them.
You're right about Cocobolo and it's many variations, it changes a lot. I've been keeping an eye out for more like this but it's hard to find.
Cheers!

Great job on ALL of them. I'm still learning so I have to ask...How did you finish them? Is it CA?
Thanks,
Tom
