    Default Over and Under Shotgun

Rollerball pen kit that a customer ordered.
It is supposed to represent an Over and Under combination rifle/shotgun.
The cap is blood wood and is supposed to represent a 12 gauge shotgun shell and has an Over & Under shotgun clip.
The Box Elder Burl barrel is supposed to represent and 30 caliber cartridge.
The Blood Wood and Box Elder Burl has 8 coats of Med CA and buffed with extra fine steel wool.

This kit weighs in at an obese 2.40 OZ (64 Grams) with a capped measurement of 6 inches.

    Les

Very nice job Les and i am sure the customer will love it. I made one about 12 months ago (not as nice as that one) mine was gold not gun metal but my point is that after making it and putting it all together i realized that because of the size and other reasons i was not a fan of the kit itself. I am not talking about your pen or my pen but the KIT. I am just curious as a maker of many bullet related pens what do you think of the kit itself ?
In the end it is what the customer wants and is not up to us but I would like to know what you think of them.

    Cheers Ian

    Thanks Ian.

This kit along with the PSI Bolt Action, Twist Rifle Cartridge and Click Rifle Cartridge kit pens are, IMHO, strictly a cheap looking Novelty item that can't come close compared to the real thing.
With that said they do sell to the novice gun enthusiast.

great work Les, i like the reasoning behind the blanks used

made me think however, it would look extreme with a red acrylic/resin cap and a flames type blank for the body

i might have to try this combination one day myself

    all the best

    Thanks guys.

    Mik,
I prefer the feel of wood over plastic for this kit.

Les as per usual I but sit and drool at the work you do, I sort of got it from your OP that you weren't terribly enamored of the kit and you confirmed that later. I've made one and I gave it away after showing several mates who are mad keen shooters and have bought some of the other bullet pens from me, but they seemed as unimpressed as I was. The young kid I gave it to has been back and has made his first pen so who knows maybe I converted another to the dark side. I love your work Les.

I realy like the workmanship that has gone into you pen but for me I'm not fussed on the two different woods. just me . I made a bullet pen recently and was not happy with the quality of the kit and it was very heavy as said.
