Anonymous hint - use a plain background/backdrop rather than a sheet of music or some neat & graceful script ....

Yes this is getting good. I just think the main rule regarding construction of the pen should be that a standard slimline twist mechanism must be used, and any other 'pre-manufactured' parts of the pen come from a standard slimline kit.

its all coming together there is lots of background work going on at the minute so i guess you should all get your thinking caps on, but don't start turning until you read the rules
yo are pretty much correct as to what the rules say
i will see if we can post the rules in here or we have to wait until the competition is officially advertised

OK, the official announcement of the Slimline Challenge is still a few days away. We still need to dot a few i's and cross a few t's, as well as get official sanction from our benevolent dictator, Ubeaut himself.
In the mean time, keep your suggestions coming so we MIK and the backroom boys can consider them.
After the Announcement, with all the rules and conditions, goes up that's it, no more changes.
So speak up now, or forever hold your, well something.

Oh goodie, this reminds me of the days long a go when we had the en Challenge that had a monthly Theme to be made from set pieces of wood - they use to really get the brain matter going!! Hope to get some shed time and join in.

I think we will see some remarkable and interesting pens being entered in this one.
Reality is no background music.
