Snake Skin Sierra
Hey There,
My Mate's kids wanted a pen for Fathers day (Yeah a while back, the pic only came through last nite) The Blank from Brett at Addictive and the Kit from Dave from Timberbits, The Snake's name is Sasha, I can't tell from her expression wether she is impressed or not, but He sure was.
No I didn't take the pic, his daughter is a Photographer, and I hate Snakes.
Thanks for looking

Nice... pen,
How'd you get the snake to hold still long enough to get the skin off him??
I hate snakes - too many near misses with Eastern Browns in the shed I'm afraid. haven't seen any this seson though, hope that means the chickens, ducks, geese and guinea fowl running around the yard are finally earning their keep.

Hey there everyone,
The snake is a 'Childs Python' Dumb name for a snake, she's about 4 years old now and about 1.8 metres (6 ft) long. Apparently it took awhile for her to get used to the pen sitting on her.
Thanks RumPig, I stand corrected (Again) Sasha is a South West Hills Carpet Python, she gets treated better than any Dog or cat that I know, (and I know some very spoilt dogs)

I know this off the subject but I would put money that it is a carpet python for 2 reason the heat pit on the head and you say it is 6 ft children only grow to 3ft at most 1.1m.
You or the owner may not care but if they do I would take it someone who knows snakes to correctly I.D it.
Either way it is a nice looking snakes they obviously take great care of it.Cheers Rum Pig

Hazza
That pen is in good position to be called the safest pen in the world. Have friends who call themselves Herpatologists or some such, me I would rather be a pen maker.
The pen has real competion in the beauty stakes with that beautiful young lady.
Neat pen in a most stimulating position.
I have ever seen. Well done your mate for hiws Snake and great pen down to you. Curious to learn what the Snake fanciers think of the shedding of innocent blood.
Regards Peter.

Nice pen
I hope you don't expect me to go the that level with my photography.
I grew up on a farm in south westish NSW (MIA) with carpet snakes, Browns and red belly blacks and I have to agree with MIK. First carpet snake I saw I nearly s*%# meself having only seen browns and red belly blacks before then and knowing how poisonous they are, the carpet - to me at about 10 yo - must have been the next magnitude.
A good snake is one which is in someone else's backyard or preferably in another state.
PS HazzaB - notwithstanding my snake comments, that is one fantastic photo. Would look good on your business cards. Big pat on the back to your mate's daughterLast edited by Sawdust Maker; 5th January 2010 at 09:44 PM. Reason: add PS
