Thread: A source of CA accelerator in Canberra

Accelerator only, but I will get the CA if it only comes as a kit.

I know this may not be exactly what you want but I have been using the CA Acelerator from GPW now for some time and think it is probably the best I have used it come in a liquid or pump pray not an aerosol but works great.

I have always used the NCF brand from Carroll's, but unfortunately they have not been able to get any for some time. In desperation when I ran out I ordered some accelerator from GPW in the pump pack, and have also found it to be very good. I must say that the NCF does make the CA cure quicker, but the GPW version smells better.

The active ingredient in accelerator is Heptane.
Paslode degreaser (Part No. B20544L) is 93-98% Heptane. Approx $16-$20 for 350 gm

To follow up on the thread I started, it was conclusively answered by Corbs. He recommended the Häfele Easy Bond Aktivator from Monaro Models in Fyshwick.

He showed this to us first hand with Ilya and Delbs the other night and I have replicated it since. It is magic. Perfecto.

It was about $60 for two cans plus a 2oz bottle of each thin and medium CA. CA brand was a silly one, something like a guys name (like a car dealer!). The chaps behind the counter were modelling fanatics and went into a spiralling rave about how good this stuff is, so I'm sold.
