Spalted Beech
Lucky me. I got a whole beech from a neighbor of mine 5 years ago. I let it lay where it was felled until there don´t came any more leaves in the springtime, and at 2010 spring the beech showed up only one (1) leave. In march 2011 I got the beech home and cut it up in 50 cm long pieces.
This week I divided the pieces in 4 and put them on pallets for further drying. The main trunk measured 6 m from the ground to the branches, and the diameter was 60 cm at the ground.
To wait 5 years before saw up the beech was a experiment, a lucky experiment.
