Special Thanks
I would like to thank Sam (simomatra) and his lovely wit Pat for having me in there shed and home yesterday and allowing me to pick his brains, that by the way contained a wealth of knowlege. I am relatively new to pen turning and I am keen to learn as much as I can.
After Talking to Sam via the forum about six months ago he offered to come over to my house and show me how he does the WOP finish it was a great help. He then offered to show me whatever he could once his new shed was completed so I took him up on that offer yesterday.
Pat made us both lunch which was great and Sam answered whatever questions I could think of. He showed me some of the wonderfull pens he has made and also helped me out with some computer information with regards to building my upcoming web site. Then if that wasn't already enough gave me some nice timber for further use as pen blanks and offered to have me back anytime.
It is because of the kindness of people like Sam and Pat (and other members of the forum) that a novice like me has managed to take up and enjoy pen making.
Once again thankyou both
Cheers Ian

Nothing like a lesson from a master, Dorno.
Apart from that Sam is a good bloke!! and his lovely wife Pat is a gem.

Sam is indeed one of a kind and only too willing to share his vast knowledge with others. He initiated me into pen turning and I owe him for that.
Sam is the maestro when it comes to pen making and is is a perfectionist which shows in his work.
Both Sam and his lovely wife Pat are great people and it is a privilege to know both of them. It was a sad day for forumites in Queensland when they decided to leave this state and settle in NSW.
It's great to see Sam back in the swing of things and we can look forward to seeing some really great work from him as usual.Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Regardless of the state Sam is in he's still free with his advice but I'll agree it is NSW win I hope one day to meet Sam. I have already been able to pick his brain and have received some fine blanks from him.

A pat for Sam and Pat.
It shows what courtesy and generosity is all about
and how this Forum generates lasting friendships.
Well done to you both.
