Square Dinkum
Wanted to share my answer to squaring pen blanks after drilling and glueing.
In describing the pictures before I commence I have used a block of Ironwood, drilled a horizontal hole to take a mandrel, using a Dremel and black cutting disk cut grooves along the mandrel to allow the Epoxy Glue to get out of and around the mandrel. I cut light grooves around the mandrel as well to facilitate glue covering the hole and mandrel.Using a small square I trued the mandrel with the timber in every direction by holding it in the lathe and two moves (one after the other 90 degrees apart hey presto parallel mandrel with the wood holder.
Placing the mandrel wood on my Sanding Disk with a blank holding it lightly against the slide block gently bring the mandrel forward to the disk. I tested this by using a reamer first and it cut the reamer marks off evenly and square. Easy as.
Using my Step Drill now 15 yrs old as shown mounted in a wood handle I gently clean out both end and this little unit cuts a very fine ream in the brass.
As you can see easy breezy and dead accurate. Cost of the mandrel (old mandrel) nil.
Piece of Ironwood 5cents.
Regards Peter.

This may seem a silly question and in fact the answer is coming to me already but I will still ask.
How do you us it on blanks wither bigger tubes than 7mm?
The answer that came to me was turn up some bushes using 7 mm tubes and a nice hard wood like Iron woodCheers Rum Pig

Make one with the right sized mandrel for each size you use. Cheap as.

I made a similar tool about a month ago because the pen mills tear out softer blanks like spalted apple. I just looked around for a bolt that a tube would slide on to. After gluing it into the block, I cut it off with a hacksaw, and cleaned up the end on the sander. I didn't bother making bushings for the different tube diameters. Just apply pressure straight down on the blank and the tube self aligns. Rotating while sanding doesn't seem to be needed.
