    Default Statesman Limited Edition 151

Limited Edition 151 Statesman from Red Mallee Burl, as I turned there were great feautures showing, so it was stabilize with CA and turn. then stabilize and turn etc, near the end put some fine sawdust in with thin CA. Then a couple of coats of BLO to bring out the grain, made sure all was dry, then CA finish, buff up with car polish. As Cisco said in his thread on the Statesman, they are much lighter than an Emperor and the minimizing of the showy clip allows the wood to become more prominent. Hope you like it, Amos

That's a great looking pen, Amos. I had to look twice because it is a twin to the one I made last week. Yours is better, of course, but that's only natural since you've been doing it longer. Yes, the Statesman kit is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. I like the clean lines and the tapered tail section. While no lightweight, it doesn't drag your shirt pocket down like some others. You've done this particular kit justice. Beautiful piece of timber, BTW.

Beautiful pen Amos. That Red Mallee Burl has such depth. Love the kit. As you say it lets the wood do the talking.

Im finding out how handy the CA is... Ive a piece of Olive that Im working on and every time I start with the skew again.... another crack or it tries to disintegrate on me. Getting close.... not sure who the victor will be.... its neck and neck.... today will be the decider!!!!!

    Great stuff Amos.

Very nice pen Amos! You did it justice. Are they a numbered pen as I see you and Cisco referring to them by 151 and 179.?

Well you have certainly done a great job of your investment. Will you be keeping it or selling it??? (Just curious)
